Hey ladies! Don't forget to RSVP for the Cross-Fit class that is scheduled for next Thursday night. Please feel free to bring a significant other. I am bringing my husband.
Also, I recently found out about a new and amazing non-profit organization and I wanted to share it with you. The organization is called Girls on the RunŽ of Louisville and it is a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 5th grade. Their mission is "to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living." Girls on the RunŽ combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with healthy living education. The programs instill self-esteem through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community. There are many ways that you can get involved with this organization. To learn about volunteer opportunities, go to www.gotrlouisville.org. Also, Girls On The Run is now accepting applications for Board Members! A GOTR board member is responsible for serving the organization by: * Establishing, planning and implementing policies * Governing the organization and monitoring progress * Approving budgets and assuring financial resources * Selecting, appointing, and approving committee members and volunteers * Enforcing our mission statement * Supporting the council director * Attending a monthly meeting Their goal is to include a fair representation of backgrounds and experiences to guide tge organization. Men and Women are welcome to apply. Board members must be able to commit between 1 and 3 years of service to GOTR. Please visit the website to learn more about the organization: http://www.gotrlouisv...
