First of all I want to say that I am sorry that I will be unable to attend the meetup or the Hot Yoga events in November. As is often the case, I will be out of town for work. Likely sitting in an airport terminal waiting for a delayed flight and smelling the tempting smells of pizza and Cinnabon.

My goal for this month is to stick to the BFL eating program and exercise at least 5 times a week. I have decided that I am committing to a 12 week Body For Life program starting tomorrow. Although it is not a magic bullet, I need some discipline and a kickstart to get me pointed in the right direction again. My eating has been totally out of control for the past few months and I need to get serious again. The exercise part of the healthy lifestyle is so much easier for me than the eating. I love to exercise. Unfortunaltey you can't out train a bad diet.

Also is anyone else troubled by the really poor form of the shadow girl doing knee push ups in the picture to the left? Susan, if she were in your class you would tell her to get her behind out of the air :)

Ha! Yes, she does have poor form.

I have been out of control with my eating lately as well. Let me know how the BFL program goes. I am just going on the simple calories in/calories out program. I'm hoping to lose 4 lbs. We'll see!

BFL= Body for Life, a book that came out back in the late 90s. It is a 12 week program of resistance training, interval cardio and an eating plan. The eating plan is essentially 5-6 small meals a day consisting of a potion a protein and high quality carb ( avoid sugar , white flout etc...). Just two days on the plan and I feel better already. Why or why do I go off a sesnsible health eating plan and swerve back into the land of junk food and sugar? What do I quit doing what works for me and what makes me feel great and decide that I " derserve" a treat when in reality that "treat" makes me feel yucky... and leads to craving more and more treats until I no longer crave health fruits and vegetables and instead want only sugar and flour???

Hope the meeting went well last night.

Hi all - Sorry I was not able to attend the meetup last night. I hope to be able to attend one in the future.

My November goal is at least 1,000 minutes of exercise for the month. I belong to another on-line fitness support group, and we have a monthly challenge thread where we pledge the number of minutes we'll do for the month, then each day we copy and paste the stats, update them with our daily minutes and post. It's kind of fun and motivating too.

I also find that exercise is the easy part. Lately I've also been having way too many treats, and I'm determined to clean up my diet before the holidays hit!

Susan,
I'd like to try your 'bootcamp' class at the JCC sometime. It sounds 'addicting'. Can you give me some times/days. Also, thanks for hosting the meetup. It was fun and you have a beautiful, warm home!
